Your past only has as much power as you give it

I don’t care what your past looks like, where you came from, what you did, or what someone said about you. If you want to change your life for the better you CAN.

You don’t have to become what was spoken over you. You’re not a loser, no good, worthless, shameful, etc. You are a child of the Most High God! All that matters is what He says about you.

It’s not easy to release all of that baggage you’ve been carrying around. It’s a process that takes TIME but if you are willing to do the work you can find freedom.

I think we can see our emotional baggage manifest itself in numerous ways in our lives. Here are a few I can think of.

1- We are highly judgmental of ourselves and others. You may find yourself constantly complaining and looking for fault in others. You can’t extend grace to them because you can’t give grace to yourself for those things you do wrong.

2- How do you handle conflict with others? do you hold a grudge? are you easily offended? are you able to resolve conflict in a healthy way or does it go untreated and fester like an open wound.

3- It blocks us spiritually. I truly believe our emotional baggage can block us from having a truly deep, intimate relationship with God. Our inner peace is non existent as long as we continue to harbor these feelings in our heart.

What are you carrying around? did someone in your life dump their guilt and shame onto you and now you find yourself packing it around on your shoulders? did you do something that you asked God to forgive you for but you can’t forgive yourself? are you currently engaging in behavior that violates your own moral code?

The good news is you can choose to get radically honest with yourself today, right now, and turn it over to Him. He can cleanse you and breathe new life into you and make you feel brand new. All you have to do is ask.

Is there something you need to let go of today? Simply “like” this post and leave your request and I will pray for you.

Matthew 11:29-30
29″Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and YOU WILL FIND REST FOR YOUR SOULS. 30″For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”
