How to help end emotional eating

Do you find yourself constantly struggling with overeating? This may be why.

Dopamine is a hormone that is involved with appetite regulation and the reward system in the brain.

Did you ever wonder why you couldn’t stop at just one cookie or slice of cake? or why you eat even when you’re not legitimately hungry?

A lot of people get caught up in overeating because of the momentary pleasure it produces…and then the guilt and shame follow.

Here are 6 tips that can help you balance your dopamine.

1) Eat more apples, bananas, and watermelon. They help to regulate your dopamine levels.

2) Avoid eating a lot of refined sugar.

3) If you have issues with junk food (trigger) then don’t keep it in your house.

4) Be active…get outside and enjoy nature.

5) Massages are also helpful in dopamine regulation.

6) Give the amino acid, tyrosine (a building block of dopamine) a boost by eating more of these foods: almonds, avocados, bananas, dairy products, lima beans, pumpkin seeds and sesame seeds.
